Margaret Givens

Margaret Givens, 89, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm Thursday, December 4th at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Friday, December 5th, at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home with Pastor Matthew Carte officiating.

Margaret was the first of nine children born to Alvie Glen McClung and Lola Eva Raines on May 4, 1925 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She married the late Elmer W. Givens on February 15, 1942 in Phoenix, Arizona. She and her husband owned and operated several businesses throughout their lives. She loved the Lord and served faithfully, whether cooking in the kitchen or singing in the choir, in the Nazarene church. Family was her first priority and her love and dedication to them is her greatest legacy!

Margaret is preceded in death by her beloved husband Elmer, her parents, 1 sister Jeanie Fife, and 3 brothers, Jay, Preston, and Nathan McClung.

Surviving relatives include a son, Larry of Dallas, a daughter Lana Wright of Wichita Falls, and a son and his wife, Greg and Teresa of Wichita Falls, 9 grandchildren – Shane, Jennifer, Jared, Geoff, Doug, Bente, Jason, Cody, and Russell, and 26 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters – Myrna Parrish, Patty Glover, and Teresa Jameson, and 1 brother Butch McClung, and many nieces and nephews and cherished friends.
