

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, August 12, 2013 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel with Tom Bowerman officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Matlock was born June 9, 1983 in Wichita Falls to Ray and Kathy(Allen) Baggett. He attended Trinity Private School in Midland and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School also in Midland. He attended the Colorado School of Mines and graduated from Midwestern State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in both Chemistry and Biology. He was currently working for his Doctorate and teaching at the University of Oklahoma. He worked at Home Depot in Austin and Wichita when in shcol. Matlock was an extremely talented and intelligent individual with a gentle soul. He was chess champion of the entire school at Trinity in Midland, played the bass very well, was a phenomenal artist, could speak several languages fluently and was an exchange student in France. Matlock had multi-talented and diverse hobbies such as music, art, gardening and enjoyed hunting.
Survivors are his mother, Kathy (Allen) Robb and husband, Matt of Austin, TX; father, Ray Baggett of Big Spring, TX; maternal grandmother, Ann J. Whelan and husband, Tom and paternal grandmother, Mildred Baggett, both of Wichita Falls; sister, Penelope Baggett of Big Spring; step-sister, Emma Robb; step-brother, Luke Robb; aunts, JoAnna Helms and husband, Joe of Houston, TX, Sharon Jones and husband, Bill of Wichita Falls and Julie Looper and husband, Rusty of Holliday, TX; cousin, Ryan Looper and wife, Sylvia of Holliday.
Preceding Matlock in death were his grandfathers, Ronald F. Allen and Milford Baggett; a cousin, Ramsey Looper and an uncle, Ronnie Allen.
