

Mildred Chandler was born in Shamrock, TX on October 7, 1927 to Joe and Lou Davis Kelsey. She went into the Lord’s loving arms on February 26, 2023 at age 95. Mildred moved to Holliday in 1975 where she was well-known as the owner and operator of Snoopy’s Hideaway (the snack bar across the street from HHS) and Snoopy’s Hickory Inn cafe. She ran these businesses until the early 1980’s. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 55 years, Lee Chandler; son, Donny Chandler; grandson, Jimmy Chandler and 8 siblings.
She is survived by daughter, Linda Kee of Holliday, TX; son, Jerry Chandler and wife Linda of Wichita Falls, TX; son, Lee Mack Chandler of Holliday, TX; 6 grandchildren: Sheryl Peters and husband Doug; Lisa Rathman; Kimber Dunkelberg and husband Bill; Scott Chandler; Brent Boyd; Clint Chandler and wife Barbie; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mildred was a kind woman who was always helping others. She adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Grandmommy always said they kept her going. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Holliday.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 1, 6-8pm at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 2, 11am at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home Chapel. Interment at Crestview Mausoleum. Officiants will be Dr. Doug Peters and Gil Peters.
