

Opal Anna Lee Davis, age 91 of Lakeside City, Texas, passed away under Hospice care Saturday, September 14, 2024. She was born in Checotah, Oklahoma on February 19,1933 to the late James Ray and Laura Browning Martin.
After graduating high school in Checotah, “Anna Lee” moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma and worked as a switchboard operator. It was there she met her lifetime love, Truman after he returned from the Korean War. They soon married and eventually moved to Wichita Falls. There they raised three sons, Stephen, James and David. Along with raising three boys, she also took in strays from the neighborhood, making sure they made it to football and baseball practice as well as volunteering as a Cub Scout Den Mother for Pack 122. She and the family attended Western Hills Baptist Church. Her devotion to church, family, Boys Club football, YMCA baseball and the Scouting program is remembered by many; however, she preferred to remain in the background making sure every need was met.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Truman, brother Bill Martin, sister Lavenia Yarberry, daughter-in-law Carolyn Davis and great-grandson Mason Davis..
Anna Lee is survived by sons Steve and his wife Sherry, James and his wife Shari and David, grandchildren Stephen Davis and wife Jessica, Erin Davis, Stacie Rogers and her husband Ryan, Katie Franke and her husband Tristan, Tony Penquite and Brooke Penquite. Great-grandchildren Emerson Davis, Luke Davis, Kendall Davis, Adelyn Rogers, Rhett Rogers, Duncan Allen along with many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Opal will be held Friday, September 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Memorial Park, 1917 Archer City Highway, Wichita Falls, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Rd, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310. The family extends their gratitude to the Hospice staff for the care and compassion they provided.
