A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home on Saturday, August 4, at 1:00 PM.
Steven was born to Quentin Glenn and Bonnie Criswell in Abilene, Texas, December 17, 1956, and soon after they returned to Wichita Falls. Upon graduation from Rider High School in 1976, he attended University of Texas at Austin. He was an avid UT Longhorns fan.
Steven worked in retail for Dillards Northparks, Nordstroms Stonebriar, and Dillards Stonebriar for 25 years. Selling shoes to his customers was his passion and he absolutely never met a stranger and was known as quite the social butterfly by many. To know him was to love him! He acquired many loyal customers and true friends from his years in retail.
He lived in Austin from 1976 to 1986, then moved to Dallas. Due to health issues, he moved back to Wichita Falls, in 2016. Austin and Frisco were his favorite locations to be. He also loved to travel and enjoyed every minute of his travels. Steve was member of Cathedral of Hope Church. Above all, he adored his faithful companion, his dog Maggie.
Steven is preceded in death by his parents: Glenn and Bonnie Criswell.
He is survived by 2 sisters: Glenda Johnson and husband Steve of Wichita Falls and Pam Martin and husband Johnny Frank of Seymour; nieces Melanie Self, Courtnie Moore, and Shelby Martin; nephews: David Curtis, Cody Martin, Micheal Johnson and Christopher Johnson; great nieces Natalie Curtis, Madison Self and Coral Johnson; great nephews Skyler Curtis, Ryder Curtis, Alex Johnson, Garrett Johnson and Colby Johnson. Steven also leaves behind his life-long very special friends, Steve Isbell and Michael Maas.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.Special recognition is sent to his compassionate and caring nurses at Hospice. Without them, this final journey would not have been bearable.
