Aaron Lee Burnison, age 48, of Rose Hill, Kansas was taken on Saturday, May 6, 2023 to be with Our Lord, Jesus. Aaron was born March 21, 1975 in Wichita, Kansas to Nona Kay Mitchell Burnison and Robert Lee Burnison.
Aaron Burnison was, in a word, real.
There was no false pretense or hidden agenda. Aaron was who he was, and he did not look for approval or acceptance, but he sure did celebrate those who did.
Aaron came from humble beginnings, which he never lost sight of. He was a firm believer of working hard and playing even harder… and he earned every minute and moment in that. He was a jack of all trades, and a master of a few… and if he didn’t know how, he always “knew a guy”.
Aaron wanted a better life for his family and he provided this through hard work and a dedication that came without apology. Aaron was proud of his family. Kristal, Aislin, and Gage, know this… his love for you knew no bounds, knew no ends, and was unconditional.
Aaron’s personality was larger than life. Wherever he was, people gravitated to him. From the apartments of early adulthood freedom to the most well-known house at 9th & Christine, and then, ultimately, his family oasis near Rose Hill, people found a way to be around him. His presence and acceptance of others was that of pure joy and happiness. As long as you could handle him, he could handle you. Aaron loved to laugh, and he loved to make those around him laugh even more.
It has been stated that friends are the family you get to choose, and being around Aaron and his group was to have chosen wisely. Aaron wanted to make as many amazing memories with as many people as possible. Knowing that sometimes, bad decisions made for great adventures and even better stories.
Aaron was the glue of a misfit crew that otherwise would not have been held together or known one another. It was because of him that this crew came together as a true family. He certainly lived the legacy of leaving those you come in contact with better than when you found them. Even in his passing, Aaron did just that. He left us better than he found us, with each other, loving, accepting, and sharing stories of those great adventures and amazing memories of days gone by. Each of us bonded in eternal gratitude for a man who truly lived his life to the fullest with no regrets.
Aaron is survived by his wife, Kristal; daughter Aislin; son Gage; parents Bob and Nonie; and nephews Landon and Cooper; and niece Chloe Burnison.
Aaron was preceded in death by his brother Jonathan Burnison.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Aaron's memory may be made to the family.
