Dear Karen, I don't know what to say.  Call me when you can. I will miss seeing Alan at novena, the occasional breakfasts when we discussed parish history.  He had the facts, ma'am.  I remember when I sent him a birthday card since we have the same birthday.  Wow, didn't do that again, he thought he needed to send me one and didn't want to do that!   :-)  He was so funny sometimes, always friendly.  He will be missed.
Now to the rest of the family that I've know for so many years.  My condolences to all of you.  We were neighbors for many years.  I know you will miss Alan a lot.  Thinking of all of you

We loved the family gatherings with Al. Playing cards with the cousins, the K-State KU football game, my parents surprise birthday parties, visits to grandma's and our farm.  All the family reunions and celebrations we shared with Alan. He had a giving heart, a sense of humor and the best smile. Rest in peace my friend

We were so sad to hear the news of Alan's passing. We had so many wonderful times together during our visits for family reunions and when Alan would drive up to St. Louis with Karen and Aunt Kay for Cardinal games. The most amazing was the first weekend in September of 1998. We had gotten tickets for 2 games months earlier, never dreaming that we would be in the stands at the old Busch Stadium for home runs #60 and 61 by Mark McGwire. 
Alan was an amazing man; so kind-hearted and generous both in words and in deeds. He will be sorely missed by all.

To the family of Alan Hipp; We convey our deepest sympathy.  We know you know of his commitment and loyalty to family and friends.  As a life-long friend, I always knew I could count on a smile and warm greeting from him. If I needed an analysis of Notre Dame football or Cardinal Baseball it was available from Alan.  We are truly sadden and we will miss Al a great deal.

Alan was a wonderful blessing to our children.  He graciously helped at Special Olympics Young Athletes.  My children looked forward to  attending each week.  Alan loved playing with the children and always made them feel special.   He will be missed by many families.  

I was looking for a  St. Joseph K of C member to volunteer to help me set up the equipment for the Young Athletes program when we first started it in the Diocese of Wichita.  Alan stepped up!  He was always there and always had everything set up in exactly the right way.  The thing I treasure the most is that first night, I told him he didn't need to stay.  He said he would but I noticed that he just stood back and observed.  Each time we met, little by little, Alan got more and more comfortable with being around "our little Catholics" and eventually began to interact with them.  He loved it and he loved them!!  What a treasure of a man!  A blessing to all of us!
