

Arwena Maxine Jones-Lewis, 95, of Wichita, KS passed away peacefully on Friday December 15, 2017. Maxine was born the daughter of Marshall and Roxie Daniels on May 26, 1922 in Strang, Oklahoma.After moving to Wichita, she united with St James Missionary Baptist Church. Where she served for over 6 decades, As a Deaconess. Support for the church mission auxiliary, Delegate to National Conventions. Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Teacher. Member of the Dorcas Circle. Maxine was a devoted mother, wife, daughter and friend. She will be remembered for the love and stability she provided within and beyond our family. As the Earthly Angel that gave support, confidence, and support to all. So strong, sensitive, and beautiful. Throughout her life she was full of laughter, love, and many times the unexpected. She was everything, a mother, wife, daughter and friend should be. God made this wonderful Angel. You were truly blessed if she touched your life. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Lewis Jones, sisters; Helen Atkins and Bobbie Hunt and son Donnie Jones. Maxine is survived by her loving children; Royce (Sheila) Jones of Woodstock, MD, Tony (Joyce) Jones, Lynn (Brenda) Jones, Gwyn Fili all of Wichita, Marshall (Lynette) Jones of Sugarland, TX, Juleah Robinson of Banning, CA, Gerald Jones of Greensboro, NC, husband; Loys Lewis of Wichita, 25 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday December 22, 2017 from 5 to 7pm. Celebration of Life services will be 11:00 am on Saturday, December 23, 2017 both at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita.
