Austin James Perkins, 30, loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on September 1, 1994, in Kansas City, Missouri to Sally and Michael Perkins.
While attending high school, he met the love of his life, Alexandra Skubitz. Austin was forced to focus on schoolwork at South High, as that was his only way to take Allie to prom. The two were united in marriage on August 17, 2019.
Austin was employed with UPS where he was a driver for 10 years and a union member for multiple years too. He was an avid sports fan and a devoted Kansas City Chiefs supporter who never missed watching a game.
When his daughter Athena was born, in 2021, Austin was the best father. He was always asking if things were normal; wanting to make sure he was doing things "right". He was over the moon when he and Alexandra had Achilles, their son, in 2023. His biggest joys were going to the zoo as a family and always lending a helping hand in any way he could.
Austin will be remembered as a caring, stand-up guy. He was very hot headed about his passions, was a hard worker, an amazing father, and fought hard for what he thought was right.
He is preceded in death by his father, Michael Perkins; his grandparents, Raleigh Debrick, Leroy Hodges, and Marjorie Crum.
He is survived by wife, Alexandra Skubitz-Perkins; two children, Athena Perkins and Achilles Perkins; mother, Sally (Jim) Straka; sister, Leah (Andrew) Satterfield; two nieces, Valerie and Addilyn Satterfield; mother-in-law, Monica Skubitz and father-in-law, Andrew Skubitz; sister-in-law, Abigail Skubitz; and brother-in-law, Michael Skubitz; grandparents, Anita and Louis Michael Ramirez, Betty Skubitz, Gene and Nancy Perkins, Joyce Debrick and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
