Barbara Jean Gralheer, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas. She was born in Elkhart, Kansas, on April 18, 1934, to parents Garcel I. and Olive A. Brenn. After graduating from Argonia High School, Barbara met the love of her life, Dale W. Gralheer. They would go on to get married on September 8, 1962, in Florence, Kansas, and celebrate a loving six years until his passing on August 1, 1968.
She started as a paraprofessional for USD 259 during the school day and at night was an ER admitting clerk for St. Joseph Hospital until her retirement. When not working or spending time with her friends and family, Barbara had a passion for showing and breeding smooth standard Dachshunds. She was a dedicated member of the Dachshund Club of America as well as the Wichita Kennel Club and the Dallas-Fort Worth Kennel Club.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, and son Jeff Gralheer. Survived by her son, Todd (Sabrina) Gralheer, grandson Garen (Morgan) Nelson, great-granddaughter Harlow Nelson, as well as many friends.
