

Luke, Barbara “Bobbie” 72 passed away peacefully August 6, 2011 in her home in Wichita, Kansas. A celebration of life memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday August 12 at Covenant Presbyterian church 1750 N. Tyler Rd. Wichita.
Bobbie was born in Valentine, NE. Aug. 14(or 15), 1938 around midnight. There was always a debate on which day we should celebrate her birthday, so she celebrated both! She attended the University of Nebraska where she met the love of her life and soul mate, Richard L. Luke. They were united in marriage in Gordon, NE. on Dec. 27, 1959. They have four children, Richard “Jeff” Luke, wife. Sondra Wichita, Todd R. Luke, Wichita, Tracy A. Julian(late husband Thom)Wichita, Meggan J. Eilert, husband Scott, Manhattan, 7 grandchildren Tyler, Shelby, Tessa and Teddi Luke, Taylor and Danielle Julian, MaKenna and Hailey Eilert, 3 step grandchildren, Yshaun Thomas, Ryan and Greg Schmidt and 2 step great grandchildren Ivy and Ryzell. Bobbie is also survived by a sister Mary Jo Woodrum and her husband John of Springfield IL. and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Bobbie was a homemaker at heart. She was a banker, florist, independent business owner, but what she cherished most was family. Spending time at her kitchen table with family was the most treasured. Bobbie enjoyed gardening, chatting on the phone, decorating (especially at Christmas) and shopping/talking with her grandchildren. SEE YA LATER ALLIGATOR!
