Ben passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas. He was born to Ben and Marquerite Smith on March 23, 1937 in Hominy, Oklahoma.
Ben was the co-owner of Smith Tree and Pest Control for 45 years in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maureen Smith; brother, Gene Smith and grandson, Jaison Ayers. He is survived by his children, Steve Smith, Debra Smith; sister, Shirley Warkentin; brother Larry Smith; grandchildren, Shannon Smith, Donnie Smith, Rachel Smith, Becca Smith, Hannah Smith, Jacob Smith, Melissa (Stock) Ortiz, Brandon Stock, Trisha Ayers and 19 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 5 pm – 7 pm with a funeral service on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 10 am, both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W Hwy 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
