Benny lived a life defined by noble character, kindness, and thoughtfulness. He was a man of quiet strength and resolve, and was well-respected by those who knew him.
Benny was a skilled craftsman, and an unwavering problem-solver who found joy in fixing things. His remarkable journey led him through service in the United States Air Force, where he worked on B-29 bombers. His expertise later contributed to Boeing and NASA, playing a role in several Apollo launches—a lasting mark on history. After years of dedicated work, Benny retired as the Chief Mechanic for the Wichita Water Department, where his hands continued to serve the needs of his community.
More than his accomplishments, Benny was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Inola May Stewart, his cherished companion for 63 years. Together, they found adventure in camping and traveling the country in their Airstream, embracing the simple joys of life. Now, he has gone to reunite with her, continuing their journey together beyond this world.
Benny was preceded in death by his son, John Alex Stewart, and is survived by his son, Jeffrey Guy Stewart and his wife, Marisa Lee Stewart, who carry forward his legacy of resilience and integrity.
His spirit will forever be remembered by those whose lives he touched, and his love will endure in the hearts of family and friends.
Funeral Service will be held at Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita on June 11th at 3pm.
