Betty J. Lyons, 82, beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandma and Great Grandma passed away on June 4, 2022. Betty was born on April 22, 1940 in Hampton, TN to Oliver “Bill” and Mary “Liz” (Tolbert) Hughes. Betty loved her family dearly, she volunteered at Sedgwick County Zoo, enjoyed gardening, traveling, watching basketball, could be opinionated, feisty and usually spoke her mind. She was a Breast Cancer Survivor. Betty worked for Raytheon/Cessna before her retirement.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Johnnie, her parents and sister Genene West. Survived by her daughter Teresa Diane (Tim) Sutherland, brothers Ron (Charla) Hughes, Ken (Bev) Hughes, granddaughter Rhiannon (Terry) Holmes, great grandson Brennan Alleman, nieces and nephews Mitchell (Marilyn) West, Doug (Amee) Hughes, Laura Hughes, Shawna Pyfrom and Lisa (Don) Macy.
Visitation with family present will be held from 5-7pm on Thurs., June 9th at Lakeview Funeral Home. Funeral Service, 11:00am, Friday, June 10, 2022 at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
