

Betty Jean Trent, 90, of Longview, Texas died November 14, 2016 after a lengthy illness. She was born September 25, 1926 in Conway Springs, Kansas and graduated from Wellington High School. Betty retired after working as a secretary in the administration office of Wichita Public Schools/USD 259 for many years. She was a member of Westwood Presbyterian Church and a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi, Laureate Lambda Chapter, both in Wichita, Kansas. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and her husband John “Jack” Trent to whom she was married for 58 years. She is survived by a daughter, Cindy Wright and her husband Bill of Fort Worth, Texas, a son, Jim Trent and his wife Courtney of Canyon Lake, Texas, seven grandchildren; Eric Wright, Lisa Wright, Krystin Williams; Kaylee Trent, Kassidy Trent, Ian Ivey-Davis, and Seth Ivey-Davis, and one great-grandchild Kamryn Williams all of Texas. Family will greet friends from 1:00 to 2:30 on Saturday, November 19, 2016 followed by a 3:00 chapel service, both to be held at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, to Hospice of East Texas, or to a charitable organization of your choice. The family would like to extend their most sincere gratitude to her compassionate caregivers at Heartis Longview and Hospice of East Texas.
