Beverly Jean Garcia, 90, passed away peacefully at her home on January 25, 2026. A woman defined by her immense heart and gentle spirit, Beverly—affectionately known as "Nanny"—spent her nine decades creating a sanctuary filled with warmth and grace.
Born in Terre Haute, Indiana, she later moved to Wichita, where she built a beautiful life alongside the love of her life, Tomas Garcia. They shared 63 wonderful years of marriage, modeling a partnership of devotion and shared joy that remains an inspiration to their family.
As a homemaker, Beverly’s focus was always her family, yet her compassion knew no bounds. Guided by a deep, lifelong faith, she cared for all people, greeting the world with an open heart and genuine empathy. To those who knew her, Beverly was a light in the darkness—a constant source of comfort, hope, and guidance.
Her days were often set to music; she had a profound love for singing and let her voice reflect the happiness she felt inside. She cherished life’s simple pleasures, especially the sound of laughter and the joy of sharing a bowl of ice cream with those she loved.
Beverly’s legacy of faith, song, and kindness lives on through her daughters, Mary Garcia and Cheryl Garcia; her grandchildren, Curtis Simmons, Brittany Garcia-Jonker, and Katlin Garcia-Jonker; and her great-grandchildren, Embyr Tate, Odesza Spencer, and Remmi Nienstedt. She is now reunited with her beloved Tomas.
A private service will be held to honor her memory.
