Billy H. Johnson, 81, of Wichita, passed away at home on February 20, 2016. Graveside services will be held at Resthaven on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. Billy was born the 7th of 11 children in Mamers, NC where he attended Boone Trail High School. He joined the Army in 1954 and was stationed at Fort Sill, OK where he met his wife Janice. In 1957 they moved to Wichita where he worked for Boeing. Billy retired from Beech Aircraft in 1995. In 1996 he received a liver transplant that gave him 20 more years of life. Billy never met a stranger and he loved his family. Billy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janice; daughte,r Michelle Oatman; son-in-law, Andy Oatman; grandsons, Billy Kyle Johnson and Riley Oatman; and numerous family members and friends in North Carolina. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sandra and son, Mike Johnson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Gift of Life Donor Program.
