

Long, Bonnie Lou (nee Gohr) (Humphries) died peacefully on May 12, 2014. She retired as Vice President of the First National Bank of El Dorado in 1988. She had worked in the banking business for years but most enjoyed working in the Haysville State Bank. She was preceded in death by her friend and loving mother, Merle Gohr and twin sisters; Betty Jean Clark (Husband, Bryson) and Barbara Dean Evans (husband, Shannon) and husband, Robert James (Bob) and ex-husband, Wilbur F. Humphries (Will). She leaves behind her two daughters, Marsha G. Murray Flemister (husband, Bill) of Wichita and Nancy K. Madzey Rodgers (husband, Adrian) of Haysville. She also has two stepsons, Brad (wife, Kathy) of El Dorado, Bart (wife, Mary) of Dallas. Grandchildren are Sherri Huckleberry (husband, Mike) of Haysville, Jeff Madzey (wife, Kathy) of Topeka and Mandy Cheever (husband, Cris of Haysville). Great grandchildren are Brody and Cameron Huckleberry, Mason and Faith Madzey, and Carson and Owen Cheever. Step grandchildren are Kristen Scibner (husband, Craig) of Wichita, Barrett Long (wife, Stacy) of Clay Center and Brooke and Matt Shemwell of Flordia. Step great grandchildren Alexandria and Avery Scribner, Robert Carter and Brenna Long, Everett and new baby girl Shemwell. Bonnie loved to have family get-togethers and was known for her cooking delights. She was an avid reader and enthusiastic WSU and KU basketball fan. Her favorite companion of many years was her little dog, Punkin who preceded her in death. Later dog companions were brothers Bow and Baby. Private services will be held at a later date.
