After immigrating from Austria in 1953, Christoph and Josefine Erthner gave birth to their last child, Brigitte - their only child born in the United States. In high school, her best friend invited her to a party where she was introduced to her husband, Brent. That night sealed her fate for the next 43 years of wedded bliss after marrying the love of her life on Oct 7, 1978. Brent and Brigitte had two beautiful children - Nicholas Vincent and Kiera Maria. Brent and Brigitte structured their lives so Brigitte could stay home and raise their children for the next 10 years until they were in school full time. As she ventured back into the workforce, she struggled finding an employer that would look past her big gap in traditional employment during the time she held the most important job of her life - raising her children. She started working at McDonalds and quickly became a store manager for 12 years. She then transferred to Eurest Dining Services, where she was a catering manager for several years until she retired in 2020. She then delved into being the best grandmother and remote learning coach for her two granddaughters during the 2020-2021 school year. During this year, she gave them guidance and wisdom and they taught her a thing or two about technology. While this only touches a few moments in her life, her love and devotion touched the hearts of anyone she met. She wasn't always the most gentle or graceful with her love and affection, but to know Brigitte was to know unconditional love.
Brigitte is survived by her husband, Brent Herbert; her son Nicholas "Nic" Herbert; and her daughter Kiera Wilson (Chris); her brother Kurt Erthner (Tina); her grandchild Autumn Wilson and her grandchild Leah Wilson.
Brigitte was preceded in death by her father Christoph Erthner and her mother Josefine Erthner; her brother Rudolph "Rudy" Erthner; her brother Gerhardt Erthner and her sister Renate Stidham.
The family will be having a memorial service at a later date.
