

He was born on December 4, 1927 in Dighton, Kansas to Eva Blanche (Moomaw) and Byron Carlson Boone. Forest was the 5th out of 10 children.
Forest spent all of his childhood years in Dighton. He attended school and worked many hours on the family farm. He graduated from Dighton High School.
A few years after graduation, he moved to Wichita, Kansas. In Wichita he secured a job with Valentine Manufacturing where he developed skills in custom sheet metal fabrication. Being a hard worker, and a budding entrepreneur, he started a new business with a close friend; B and W Manufacturing. Forest later started his own sheet metal fabrication and restaurant equipment business called Custom Equipment, which is still in business today.
Forest met his wife, Grace Helen Boone, in Wichita and they were united in marriage on August 2, 1958. They made their home in Andover, Kansas. Forest and Helen were married for 53 years. They had three children; Glenda Lea Jones (Brent); James Forest Boone; and Beth Ann Boone all of Andover, KS. They had three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Forest was preceded in death by his wife Helen Boone; parents Eva and Byron Boone; brother Henry Boone and Bill Boone, sisters Elaine Johnson and Virginia Herdt and granddaughter Corine Jones.
He is survived by his children Glenda (Brent) Jones, James Boone, and Beth Boone; grandchildren Jordan (Molly) Jones, and Tristan (Hannah) Jones; great-grandchildren Brynlie Jones and Kinsley Jones; brother Kenneth Boone; and sisters Dorothy Gibson, Lucille Speer, Juanita Hall and Lois Koeppen.
Memorial Service for Forest will be held at Lakeview Funeral Home on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 10am.
