Corinne Kirkhart

Corinne was born on March 6, 1926, to Marcus and Clara (Stavene) Dosseth in Sacred Heart, Minnesota. After Corinne graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1944, she went to work for AT Santa Fe railroad, which took her to multiple cities throughout the Midwest, ending in Newton, Kansas.

In 1949, Corinne met Winston Kirkhart in Wichita, Kansas. They were married March 17, 1951. They had 3 children: Cheri Mattoon, Craig Kirkhart, and Wendi Zinn.

Corinne spent her time volunteering on the PTA while the kids were in school and was President of Wichita PTA and VP of Kansas PTA. She served on multiple committees as a member of Mt Vernon Presbyterian Church, on Presbyterian Women and Presbytery of Southern Kansas. In 1982, Corinne went to work for Shelter Insurance and retired in 1991.

Corinne loved to travel. While married, her and Winston and the kids would travel the USA. She and her sister Joan took a couple trips to the UK, seeing England, France, Scotland, and Norway. Later in life, she enjoyed going to Minnesota, the Bahamas and Arizona.

Corinne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Winston; brother, Steve Dosseth; sister, Marcella Oden; and grandson, David Snyder.

Corinne is survived by her son, Craig Kirkhart of Wichita; daughter, Wendi (Bill) Zinn of Phoenix, AZ; stepdaughter, Cheri Mattoon of Albany, Oregon; grandkids, Kari Kirkhart of Wichita, Kristin (Daren) Miller of Phoenix, Lisa and Erik Snyder of Oregon; sister, Joan Skalbeck of Wilmar, Minnesota; four great-grandkids; one great-great-grandkid; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service for Corinne will be held 2:00 PM, Monday March 6, 2023 at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E 13th Street N., Wichita, Kansas 67206.

Burial will follow the service at Lakeview Cemetery in the Garden of Veterans.
