David Vinton Rushton

He was born June 17, 1941 to Vinton Rushton and Lola Smith in Centerville, Iowa.

David served in the Air Force from July 1969 to September 1972, including service in Vietnam. In his working life, he was a bridge engineer for Sedgwick County, bringing steady dedication and careful judgment to work that quietly supports a community every day.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Black) Rushton; his son, Steven Rushton; and his grandsons, Sean Rushton and Tyler Rushton.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clifford Rushton and Donald Rushton; his sister, Laura Rushton; his mother, Lola Pearl Smith; and his father, Vinton Rushton.

A Graveside Service will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209, on June 8, 2026, at 11:00 am, in the Garden of Love.
