

Diane Allison Burns, 81, of Bel Aire, Kansas passed away on Thursday March 13, 2025. She was born on August 12, 1943 in Montreal, Canada to parents Walter T. and Nellie E. (Allison) Oldfield. While growing up she attended John Rennie High School in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, along with her older and younger brothers Ron and David, graduating in 1961. Later Diane married the love of her life, Gary R. Burns, on May 13, 1967, in The Church of the Resurrection, a faithful community located in the heart of Valois neighborhood in Point-Clair Quebec. Diane and Gary moved to the states and resided in Fort Walton Beach, FL where their oldest son Scott was born. Later they followed their family to Trenton, NJ where their youngest son Craig was born. After several years in NJ they moved again following the Burns family to Holiday, FL where they lived from 1974 till 2020. In Florida, she had a personal house cleaning business, sold PartyLite candles and was a Mary Kay consultant for many years. Diane was a long-time member of BEO - Beta Sigma Phi sorority where she met many longtime friends. She enjoyed the Floridian outdoors, playing tennis, swimming, growing orchids, gardening, and her surrounding neighbors and community. Photography was another hobby that she excelled in and enjoyed developing some of her photos throughout her home. Diane, being of Canadian decent, was an avid hockey fan and enjoyed watching the Tampa Bay Lightning and enjoyed attending games with Gary, and even had their picture with the Stanley Cup after the Bolts won their first championship in 2004. Diane and Gary celebrated a loving 52 years of marriage until his passing in 2020.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter & Nellie (Allison) Oldfield, her beloved husband Gary Burns, her son Craig Burns and her brother David Oldfield. She is survived by son Scott (Susan) Burns, daughter-in-law Shannon Burns; grandchildren Shelby (Jordan) Haworth, Vincent Merritt, and Brody Burns; great grandchildren Jaxon and Ava Haworth; her brother Ron (Jeanne) Oldfield and many nieces, and nephews.
