Donald R. White, 78, was called home on December 29, 2025, joining his beloved parents, John and Ruth White; his daughter, Crystal Burkes; his brothers Gary, Jon and Kevin ; his sisters Linda and Pam; and his niece Sarah.
Known affectionately as “Donnie,” he spent 50 years on the road as a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways. He joined the Army at a young age and served from 1965 to 1968, including a year in Vietnam. Though he carried a rugged exterior, those closest to him knew his heart was rooted in loyalty, love, and family. He was a devoted son, father, uncle, and friend—steadfast, generous, and always willing to show up for the people he cared about.
Don is survived by his cherished wife, Judy, who remained the center of his world. He is also survived by his daughter, Shaylene Schrader, and her husband, Alan; his grandchildren Dylan and wife Lacey, and Donovan and wife Stasia; and his great‑grandchildren Lucas, Daphne, Kennedy, Jesse, and Hazel Schrader. He is also survived by his sister Marilyn White, his sister‑in‑law Kelly White, and the many friends who became family over the years. Each of them carries a piece of his spirit forward.
A memorial service will be held graveside to honor Don’s life at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Resthaven Cemetery’s Freedom Garden. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate the legacy of a man who loved deeply and lived with quiet strength.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the VA in Don’s honor.
