Dorothy May Schmidt, 94, passed away February 15, 2017. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert F. Schmidt, father William Jennings Laws and mother Ruth Elizabeth Stone Laws. Dorothy was born April 2, 1922 in Oklahoma City, OK. She and her husband moved to Wichita in 1947 for Robert’s employment. Dorothy is survived by her daughters Janice (Gary) Thompson of Wichita, Kathy (Bill) Ayesh of Wichita and Ruthi (Nels) Hoadley of Overland Park, KS, grandchildren Jamie Clark, Tracie Huff, Kellie Mayer, Scott Hatchett, Stacey Benjamin, Clint Ayesh, Megan Hoadley, Ryan Hoadley and 16 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Lakeview on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Kansas Humane Society and Rivercross Hospice.
