

Dwane passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the age of 80 in Wichita,Kansas. He was born to Arthur and Edna “Hope” (Fox) Moore on June 13, 1945, in Wichita Kansas.
Dwane graduated from South High School and then went on to get his bachelor’s degree at Wichita State University. He then joined the Air National Guard in 1966. In 1968 he was transferred to Air Force active duty during the Pueblo Incident. He served in Korea from 1968 – 1969 before being honorably discharged. After the military
he was an Industrial Arts teacher in Conway Springs in the early 1970s then went on to Kreonite in 1975 and worked there for 28 years, then worked for Vornado for 10 years, retiring in 2013. He was a past president of the Society of Plastic Engineers.
On September 3, 1967, Dwane married his high school sweetheart, Starr Leigh Snyder who he met through a mutual friend.
Dwane grew up attending Bethany United Methodist Church where he attended until he moved to West Wichita. Dwane was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He always made time for his son’s and grandchildren’s activities and he attended their sports and musical programs.
Dwane loved his sons and families unconditionally. He loved playing with his grandchildren, fishing, water skiing and camping with his brothers, sons, grandchildren and extended family. Dwane and Starr loved camping and traveling together. He was seen by all as a strong, trustworthy, loyal man who put others first.
Dwane was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents and sister, Lynda Hope Moore. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Starr L. Moore; sons, Kevin L. Moore (Tammy), David C. Moore (Pamdora), Dr. Travis R. Moore (Dena); brothers, Larry Moore (Christa), Garry Moore (Nancy); grandchildren, Jacob Moore, Katherine Alvarez (Christian), Nathan Moore (Tiffany Pham), Brianna Moore (Khalib Harris), Maddox Moore, Izzy Baughman (Alex), Kayden Moore, Elena Davis, Fiona Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 5 PM – 7 PM on Monday, February 2, 2026, and funeral services on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 1 PM, both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W Hwy 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
