Schmidt, Emanuel V., 88, of Wichita, KS departed to his heavenly home Tues. Apr. 21, 2015. Emanuel was born in Hillsboro, KS on Mar. 25, 1927 the son of Andrew and Jacobena Schmidt. Emanuel and Evelyn Schmidt were united in marriage on Sep. 9, 1951 in Marion, KS. Emanuel served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the First Mennonite Brethren Church in Wichita. Emanuel retired after many years as an inspector from Boeing Aircraft. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Andrew, Jr. and Samuel Schmidt. Survivors include daughters; Cindy (John) Baize and Rhonda Hendershot, 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers and 1 sister. Visitation will take place on Thurs. April 23, 2015 from 6:30 to 8pm. Funeral Services will be 2pm on Fri. April 24, 2015 both at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 East 13th St., Wichita. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita.
