Forest J. Slocum

Forest was born on July 30, 1958, the son of John William and Hazel D. Slocum, in Wichita, Kansas.

Forest joined the U.S. Army, wanting to pursue a career as a Paratrooper at Ft. Bragg, until a devastating head injury caused him to be honorably discharged.

Forest was preceded in death by parents; a brother, Bernard "Bernie" Slocum.

Survivors include: his children, Sonny, Shawn, James, Sara, Dustin, Justin, and Gina Slocum; siblings, Donna and husband, Donald Pierce, Carla and husband, Joe Weeks, Clifford and wife, Carol Slocum, Gretchen Trimble; and numerous other extended family.

Visitation 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 9; funeral service 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, both at Resthaven Mortuary Chapel, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, with military honors provided by the U.S. Army.
