Wilcoxson, Gene E., 79, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Mon. Feb. 8, 2016 in Wichita. Gene was born on Feb. 12, 1936 in Augusta, KS to Ed and Verna Wilcoxson. Gene and Hazel Wilcoxson were united in marriage on Jan. 24, 1959 in Augusta. Together they celebrated 43 years of marriage before her passing in 2002. Gene served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Westside Church of Christ in Wichita. Gene was very loyal, hardworking and loving in all aspects of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and older sister. Survivors include his loving daughter, Kayleen; younger sister, Carolyn; granddaughter, Noelle; and great-granddaughters, Mackenzie and Leah. Visitation will be held on Fri. Feb. 12, 2016 from 6 to 8pm. Funeral services will be 10am on Sat. Feb. 13, 2016, burial immediately following. All services will be held at Lakeview Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made, in his name and loving memory, to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1820 E. Douglas Ave., Wichita, KS 67214.
