Casey, Gerald D., January 11, 1934-March 24, 2013. Born in Wichita to Fern and Levi Casey, he graduated from Wichita North High School. He proudly served in the Marine Corp from 1953-1956 training in a variety of specialties. He and his wife owned and operated The Cedar from 1965 to 1974, and he opened Casey's Restaurant during that time. He then became a self-taught engineer, working at a variety of companies in tool design. His wanderlust worked well with his new trade giving him the chance to travel coast to coast. Gerald was preceded in death by his wife Darlene of 45 years. Survivors are children Mike (Ann), Steve (Judy), Harold (Laurie), Brett, Kevin, Shannon (Ann); brother Paul; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral service is 10:00 am Thursday, March 28 at Resthaven Mortuary with visitation 1 hour before service.
