Gereta Mae Stone

Stone, Gereta M. (Johnson), 80, of Wichita, Kansas, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many went to be forever with the Lord. Gereta was surrounded by her family in California when she took her last earthly breath and her first heavenly breath on January 8, 2014. Born on December 5, 1933 in Hollis, Arkansas, she came to Wichita in 1953 and married Marvin W. Stone. Gereta was preceded in death by: husband Marvin, her parents Walter and Winnie Johnson, brothers Melvin, Elton, Virgil, Elzy, Coy, and sisters Faye Kelley, Nova Baker, and Marie Lancaster. Survivors: daughter Karen Nalley and son-in-law David, grandsons Kristopher Hubisz and Collin Black (wife Leighna), 3 great grandchildren Dominick, Ethan, and Alixandria, one brother Odell Johnson (Madeline), and two sisters Lois Abbott (Clarence), Emmie Jane Whiley, and numerous nieces and nephews. We will miss her beautiful blue eyes, sweet smile, and gentle personality. She was loved so very much by all and will be missed greatly while we await the coming heavenly reunion. All family and friends are invited to a Viewing and Memorial celebrating Gereta's life that will be held at Resthaven. Viewing will be Thursday, Jan. 16th from 3-8 pm with family receiving from 6-7 pm. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, Jan. 17th at 1:00 pm at Resthaven Mortuary. Reception will follow the graveside service at Christ the King Church at 4411 W. Maple, Wichita, KS
