

Jackson, Gilbert Cheshur passed away on December 14, 2015 at Prairie Homestead Assisted Living in Wichita, KS. Born in Friendswood, Texas on 3-28-1922 to the late Marva Coppock and Ralph Elmer Jackson, Gilbert was married for 67 years to the late Emily B. Jackson. He is survived by his three daughters, Carol Ambrogio (Thomas) of Connecticut; Patty Savely of Wichita, KS; Jolene Martin (Jeff) of Kansas City, KS; four grandchildren, Christopher Vaiuso, Donald Savely, Julia Smoldt, Jessica Gunkel; and eleven great grandchildren. Gilbert lived most of his life in Wichita. He graduated from Friends Bible College, Friends University, A.B., 1949. Was in business in the Coleman Grocery Store. Obtained his Teacher Certificate, 1965. M.Ed. Wichita State University, 1971. Learning Disability Cert., 1979. Gilbert was active at University Friends Church and enjoyed traveling and RV camping with Emily and the children and grandchildren. His faith was unwavering in his Lord and he was an inspiration to his entire family of married love, always there for his family whenever they needed him. A memorial service will be Saturday, December 19, at 2:00 p.m. at The University Friends Church, 1840 W. University St., Wichita, KS 67213. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to University Friends Church or Barclay College, Haviland, KS.
