

Mitchell, Glen H., 90 retired Santa Fe Railroad employee, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010. Celebration of Life will be held at 10 am Friday, August 13, 2010, Hillside East, 935 N Hillside. Burial will follow at 2 pm at Cassoday Cemetery, Cassoday, KS. Glen was born July 21, 1920 to Herman and Lottie (Sutton) Mitchell, who preceded him in death, in Wichita, KS. Brother Thomas Mitchell and sisters Wanda Jacobs and Barbara Jo Young also preceded him in death. He is survived by wife, Barbara; daughter, Diane Mitchell; son, Tim (Julie) Mitchell of Wichita; son, Steve (Sue) Mitchell, Newton and son Kirk (Patsy) Mitchell, Augusta; sister, Betty Pierce, Sedgwick; brother; Charles Mitchell, Hasty, CO; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. He joined the US Navy in 1940 where he served aboard the battleship USS Maryland and was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor. He married Barbara Morledge in 1944 and started a family and a 42 year career with the Santa Fe Railroad before retiring in 1981.
