

Walton, Harold Leroy. A celebration of life will be held at Resthaven Cemetery on June 4th at 1:00 pm to remember Harold Leroy Walton, 90, of Clearwater, Kansas who went to be with his Heavenly Father, Sunday June 1, 2014. He was surrounded in love by his 4 children upon his death. Born December 27th, 1923 to Addie and Charles Walton of Oberlin, Kansas. Preceeded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Shirlene L. Walton (McCall), he is survived by children Mary Lee Carney of Rose Hill, Eddie L. Walton (Roe) of Glendale Heights, Illinois, Charles L. Walton of Clearwater and Virginia L. Walton (Patrick) of Clearwater. Grandfather to Wendy Walton (Daniel) of New Jersey, Heather Ganzer (Guinn) of Texas, Meghan Carney of Wichita, Melissa Pardue (Nick) of Wichita, Ashley Walton of Wichita, Kyle Walton (Keisha) of Topeka and Sheldon Walton of Clearwater. Great Grandfather to David Walton of Texas, Devin Ganzer of Texas, Lucas Walton of Topeka, Andrew Spencer of New Jersey and Great Great Grandfather to Lucy Walton of Texas. Harold retired as a Federal Mediator covering the central mid-west and was previously a business Representative for the Machinest Union District Lodge 70. Harold was a member of the Architects class at College Hill United Methodist Church and served his church in a variety of ways. As a U.S. Navy veteran honorably discharged, Harold generously served his community as a leader in many functions that included Commander of American Legion post 401, President and Chairman of the Sedgwick County United Way, volunteer driver for the American Red Cross, Health Planning Committee of Sedgwick County and Family Consultation Service among others. He was instrumental in forming Hospice in the Wichita area and the Wichita area Drum and Bugle Corps. Only exceeded by Harold's love for his family and Church, was his love for farming and the joy he derived from cultivating his farm land in the Oberlin, Kansas area. Funeral service is 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 4 at Resthaven Mortuary.
