Hugh "Bradley" Hiner, 57, of Viola, Kansas, passed away on February 10, 2025. Born in Wichita, Kansas, on December 26, 1967, Brad grew up in Garden Plain, KS, where he was known for his humor, ornery ways, and his willingness to give the shirt off his back.
After completing high school, Brad began a career in aircraft manufacturing with Boeing, later moving to Spirit AeroSystems, where he dedicated many years. For some time, Brad balanced both his career in aircraft manufacturing and building his own business, later retiring early. Never one to sit still, he also worked full-time in construction and masonry. His strong work ethic and wide range of trade skills made him a go-to person for any job, and he took great pride in his craftsmanship.
Brad’s deep passion for family and friends was shown in the way he always made time for those he loved. He loved the great outdoors, especially pole fishing and hand fishing in the Ninnescah River, fixing up cars, and unwinding with an old John Wayne western. One of his greatest joys was watching his daughters, Camryn and Coti, play ball. He was incredibly proud of them and their sports achievements. Brad himself was also a great athlete, and his competitive spirit was evident both on and off the field. His sense of humor was constantly displayed through his jokes and infectious laughter, which could always bring a smile to anyone around him.
He is survived by his mother, Betty King; his daughters, Camryn and Coti; his sister, Kristy Hawkins and her husband, Kip Hawkins; and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Hiner, and his brother, Todd Hiner.
A memorial service to honor Brad’s life will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A small service will begin at 6:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the family to support Brad's daughters' futures.
Brad’s kindness, hard work, adventurous spirit, and many unique words of wisdom will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
