Ira Kenneth Hughes

Kenneth graduated from Hampton High School in Hampton, Tennessee. After he moved to Kansas he worked for Cessna Aircraft for 40 years, where he also met his wife, Beverly Roberts. They were married on October 31, 1975.

He was active with the Legacy Worship Center church in Wichita. Kenneth thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, golf, football and his favorite car was the 1957 Chevy. Kenneth was also very active in the Young Hunter’s Safety Clinic. He and Beverly enjoyed volunteering at the Masonic Home for many years.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Geneine West and her husband, Jim West, Betty Lyons and her husband, Johnnie Lyons and son, Michael Morrison Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; brother, Ronnie (Charla) Hughes; children, Dawn McGuire, Shawna Pyfrom, Michael Morrison Jr. and Lisa (Don) Macy; grandchildren, Lais Pyfrom, Trae Pyfrom, Sage McGuire, Eli McGuire and Kennedy Macy; great grandchildren, Laila O’Roark and Brantley Pyfrom.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Legacy Worship Center, 3310 W MacArthur Rd, Wichita, KS 67217 with funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will be at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 West Hwy 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209, following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, Illinois 6061.
