With hearts full of sorrow and immeasurable love, we announce the passing of Isaiah Love Coleman Jr., lovingly known as “Baby Zayy,” on June 2, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas. Though he was only with us for six months, Isaiah’s presence brought healing, joy, and a light that touched every soul around him.
He was born on November 13, 2024, at Wesley Hospital to proud parents Marissa Castillo and Isaiah Coleman Sr. From the moment they felt his first kicks to the day they first heard his heartbeat, Isaiah’s life was a promise of love and transformation. Through morning sickness, watermelon cravings, and endless lullabies, he was met with open hearts and a home ready to wrap him in warmth.
Isaiah’s days were filled with snuggles, laughter, and wonder. He loved watching Bluey, giggled at the sight of his furry companions, and lit up whenever his favorite foods—carrots, mangoes, and especially prunes—were near. He wasn’t fond of tummy time or the car seat but delighted in walker rides, nose kisses with his mama, and the gentle hums that became their shared language of love.
More than just a baby, Isaiah was a thread in a larger story—a tapestry of resilience and family woven together by faith, promise, and purpose. His time with us, though painfully short, was rich with memories that will be treasured forever.
He is survived by his loving parents; extended family; and all who were drawn in by the radiance of his smile and the depth of his presence.
A funeral service for Isaiah was held Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. The celebration of his life was led by Eulogist, Celebrant Cyndi Mendoza-Jones.
Isaiah was—and remains—pure love. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who held him, knew him, and were changed by him.
