Janet passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, in Mulvane, Kansas at the age of 70. She was born to Amos Raymond Evans and Leona Pearl (Hall) Evans on July 14, 1955, in Winfield, Kansas. On December 31,1972, she married Wendell White, and they shared 48 wonderful years together until his passing.
Janet was a devoted stay-at-home mom, raising her children until they were old enough to attend school. Once they reached that point, she returned to school herself, working hard to earn her GED and a degree in sheet metal. She went on to work as a sheet metal mechanic at Raytheon for about ten years. Later, she took medical retirement and once again became a full-time stay-at-home mom.
Even while struggling to breathe, Janet always tried to do as much as she could for the people she loved. She was a truly devoted mother, grandmother, and friend.
In the last year and a half of her life, Janet found a deeper connection to her faith and began attending Mulvane Christian Church. She enjoyed sitting in the same pew each Sunday, sharing friendly banter with Pastor Dave and friends.
Janet enjoyed watching Chiefs football, as well as classic shows like Little House on the Prairie and Bonanza. She loved arts and crafts, both at home and at the senior center, shopping with friends, spending time with family, and caring for her beloved dogs. Janet also had a special gift for conversation and could easily turn strangers into friends.
Janet was preceded in death by her spouse, Wendell White; parents and sisters Pearl and Liz. She is survived by her son, Kevin (Hali) White; daughters, Angie White, Kristel White, Carrie (Tony) Hull; brothers, Raymond Evans, Wayne Evans, Wally Evans, and Tom Evans; grandchildren, Alivia White, Gia Wilson, Makayla White, Carmen Salts, Nathan Salts, Ayden White, Aric Hull, and Alexandria Hull; fur-babies, Savannah and Lonna and a circle of very close friends.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 W Hwy 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209 with celebration of life at 2:00 pm at the Mulvane Christian Church, 502 Highland Park Dr., Mulvane, Kansas 67110.
