Jesse Wayne Eli Kinney

Jesse was a bright and talented 8th grader at Lewis-Palmer Middle School in Monument, Colorado. He had a deep love for the outdoors, spending countless hours hiking, fishing, and discovering all kinds of animals and critters. Some of his happiest moments were on the family farm, where he loved riding around on the four-wheeler, building things, and exploring every corner of the land. Jesse's passion for cars, Hot Wheels, and Legos was matched only by his vivid imagination and creativity. He also enjoyed reading and immersing himself in the world of video games, finding joy in both quiet moments and exciting adventures.

He was preceded in death by his loving and treasured mother, Lydia Barton; his playful brother, Ronan Harding; grandmother, Kim Kinney; his great-grandmother, Paula Scudder; his great-grandfather, Ernest Kinney; and his great-grandparents, Roger and Roxanne Redman.

Jesse is survived by his loving father, Jeff Kinney; his bonus mom, Heather Kinney; his bonus dad, Gage Harding; his sister, Kaelee Kinney; and his bonus siblings, Korie, Riley, and Zella. He is also survived by his cherished grandparents, Michael and Twana Kinney, Nick Barton, and Tonya Weatherman, bonus grandmother, Christina Mason, as well as his uncle, Truman Barton; his aunt, Leslie Hodges; his cousin, Layla Brown; and his great-grandmother, Esther Kinney. Jesse’s memory will also be treasured by many dear friends.

A Celebration of Life Service for Jesse will take place 2:00PM, Thursday, January 16th, with one-hour prior visitation starting at 1:00PM, at Lakeview Funeral Home. Burial for family, will follow the service at Lakeview Cemetery in the Garden of Prayer, 12100 East 13th Street North, Wichita, Kansas.

The family kindly invites everyone to bring a cherished item to place in his casket as a keepsake. These items can be anything that holds special meaning or a fond memory. While he had a particular love for cars, Hot Wheels and Legos, any item that represents the love and connection you shared with him will be a beautiful addition to his resting place. Your gesture will help surround him with the warmth and memories of those who loved him.
