

John H. Flint was born on July 7, 1940, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the son of John Dempsey and Virginia Elizabeth (Thompson) Dempsey. He enlisted in the Army and served his country from October 28, 1958 – October 27, 1964, where he fell in love with paratrooping. While in the army he earned parachutist, marksman, sharpshooter, and expert badges. He worked for Boeing and Cessna for many years in various locations across the country as a tooler.
John never married but his sister Sharon which was the center of his life and followed her to Caldwell, Kansas after she choose to make this her permanent home. If she didn’t mean so much to him, he would have made Alaska his home a state he had dreamed of living in. He enjoyed gold mining in Alaska, photography where he even developed his own photos, gardening, carpentry and gem cutting. He loved animals and had a special place in his heart for children where he gave significant contributions to St. Jude’s Hospital and Children’s Cancer Recover Foundation.
On November 21, 2023, John passed away after suffering from dementia for the last several years. He was proceeded in death by his sister Sharon, nephew Robert and niece Brenda and nephew-in-law Arturo.
John will be deeply missed by his nieces Barbara and Bonnie; great nieces Crystal Jenni and Margarita; great nephews Weigand, Brandon and Kai; great-great nephews Christopher, Zander, CJ, Asher, and Canyon; great-great nieces CaliTee, Norah and Tinsley and many other relatives.
