Jorge R Gomez

Gomez, Jorge Rolando, 69 died November 18th, 2012. Services will be held at Resthaven Mortuary at 1 PM on November 21th. Visitation with the family is at Resthaven at 7-8 PM on November 20th. Jorge was born on December 11th, 1942 in Monterey Mexico. Jorge emigrated to the United States in 1957 and graduated from McAllen High School in McAllen Texas in 1962. Jorge joined the United States Navy after graduating and became a citizen of the United States on June 23rd, 1964 until serving aboard the USS Graffius. Jorge retired from the Navy as a YNC in 1984 after many years of duty as full time support at Naval Reserve Centers across the United States and finally the Reserve Center in Wichita Kansas. Later, Jorge started his own business, Aztec Building Maintenance. Jorge was preceded by his Father and Mother Jose Gilberto and Romana Gomez, his brother Jose Giberto Gomez Jr. and sisters Elisa Tijerina and Josefina Gonzalez. Jorge is survived by his wife of 45 years Esmiria Gomez and their children Rolando Gomez and Michael and Zabrina Maynard, brother Roberto Gomez (Maria Luisa) and sister Beatriz Carrizalez and two grand children Romana and Robert Maynard. Jorge was active in Naval Enlisted Reserve Association, local Kiwanis Chapter of Wichita and Wichita Heights Baptist Church.
