Leo Francis Smith

Leo was born in Ottumwa, IA in 1923 and served in the US Navy in World War II where he was trained as an electronics technician and served in North Africa. He was united in marriage to Katherine Stefanich September 17, 1949 in Denver CO.

Leo was a man of deep faith and dedicated to serving others. He was a very active member and volunteer with St. Anne Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Catherine Smith; wife, Katherine Smith; son, Michael Francis Smith; daughter, Theresa Louise Smith; sisters, Alice and Catherine Smith; and brother Joseph Smith.

He is survived by his children, Stephanie (David) Porto, Lawrence, KS, Bernard Smith, McKinney, TX, Margaret Kline, Wichita, Steve (Alison) Smith, Allen, TX; grandchildren, Laura (Ben) Atkins, Chris Porto, Steve Kline, Jon (Traci) Kline, Matthew Smith, Wesley Smith; great grandsons, Theodore and Nicholas Atkins.

Rosary 7pm Monday, June 2, 2014 and Mass of Christian Burial 2pm, Tuesday, June 3, 2014, both at St. Anne Catholic Church.

A memorial has been established with St. Anne Catholic School, 2801 S. Seneca, Wichita, KS 67217.
