

Lillian Velda Ames, 92, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025. She was in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her grandchildren. Born on July 12, 1933, Lillian lived a long and meaningful life, always surrounded by the love of her family.
Lillian was preceded in death by the love of her life, Vernon Ames; her son, Jerry Majors; her first husband, Bill Majors; her parents; and six siblings.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Misty Majors, Leah & Oscar Gonzalez, and Logan Majors (Carina Treto-Rivera); great-grandchildren: Andrew & Megan Serna (Majors), Jenna Wegner, Malakhi Majors, Ivan Gonzalez, Evelyn Majors, Malerie Silerio-Rivas, Adalina Majors, and Stetson Majors; and her great-great-grandchildren: Memphis, Swayze, and Foster Wegner. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins who adored her, as well as her faithful companion, her beloved dog Cutie Pie.
Lillian dedicated over 30 years of service to Beechcraft, working as a keypunch operator from 1960 until her retirement in 1992. Beyond her work, she was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother across three generations. She found joy in beauty shop days, bird watching, shopping, and traveling, but above all, she treasured time with her family.
A woman of strength, grace, and devotion, Lillian’s legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched.
