Grandpapa has left a lasting impression on me. Before I came to America I prayed that I would have someone to continue to teach me about God and to keep my faith growing as a child. I had no idea why I prayed a prayer like that at 9 years old except for my dad's father who was my spiritual guide had passed away about 1 year prior to me coming to America. I was very sad and lonely. Grandpapa filled that void. I used to go to his house in the afternoons while my mom was at work just for his bible lessons. He would say everything both in English and in French. Grandpapa also would tell me about his friends and his cousins he grew up with. I love the look he would get on his face when I asked him questions about the Bible or the family. Grandpapa I love you so much. I am so thankful we grew so close. I know you are in heaven and pain free. I hope you smile daily when you look down on us.

The best Grandpa and I could have had. He was a family man and would always be willing to help those he can. He never forgot about others and I will never forget about him and all the many acts of generosity and love that he showed. There was so much more we were supposed to do and talk about but I know that you are in peace.  I love you Grandpa and miss you. Thank you for all you have done for me.

I knew that I was his favorite nephew, because we all were favorite nephews and nieces. But it felt so good when he said it to me with that genuine smile and his voice which translated the joy he felt when seeing me whenever I come home. Every time, all I could do was embraced him with the BIGGEST HUG that my heart could deliver as he was always, with open arms, ready to receive me...saying with a tone of surprise "Wesner! my favorite nephew"

It is impossible for me to describe him with all the best, greatest, and divine word that are in existence, because it would still be insufficient.  All I know and believe, he will always be my Tonton Metou whom I love and will always love with every beat of my heart.

What an extraordinary man and a simple life equal to: Ton Metou! If the dash between the date of birth and the date of death appears to be a small dash, however, it represents the whole life of a man (or a woman to be politically correct since it's an election year and I need the votes). Dreams, achievements, success, good memories, failures, bad memories. Metou's little dash, however, reaches infinity since he has used his life to teach a life. Any encounter with this man of God turns to a teachable moment. Don't talk to him about Jesus-Christ unless you have time because it is going to be a long, long, long conversation. My father-in-Law has not written a Bestseller. My father-in-law has not held a public position of power. My father-in-law has not even set foot in a university. However, the impact of his life to our lives will be felt for generations to come and only the Almighty God, the Creator of the Universe, the Master of Infinity (site of his little dash) will be aware of this impact. Dear family,
The Foster Grandparent Program share our deepest condolence to you in the loss of your love one, Metellus Louis.  Mr. Louis volunteered at Stanley Elementary school assisting students in the library as long as his health allowed him. He enjoyed not only the students and staff but found meaning in staying busy and productive. He enjoyed being a part of our mentoring program.
