Michael Byington

Michael "Nico" Christian Byington passed away on January 10, 2016. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at Pine Valley Christian Church on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11AM. Michael was born October 31, 1997, in Wichita, Kansas. Michael had many interests, his biggest being involved in the Leadership programs with ROTC, the Mental Health Association, and working behind the scenes with the Andover and East H.S. Drama departments as a stage carpenter building sets for their productions. His biggest passion was his dream to become a chef and he wanted to attend culinary school in the future. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hiking around the states of Kansas, Colorado and Arkansas. Michael was a sports fan and enjoyed watching WSU, KSU and The University of Texas. As a youth, Michael participated in baseball and played for many local youth teams. He was employed at AJ's at the Alley where he was the popular employee. Michael is survived by his parents, John Byington of Andover, Natalie (Lisa) Tos-Brightup of Wichita; Sisters, Misty Byington (Mike Baker) of Enid, OK, and Tiffanie Byington (Joshua Young) of Park City; brother, Alexander Byington of Wichita; grandparents, Phillip Tos Sr. of Blanchard, OK, Nancy (Kelly) Kenyon of Oklahoma City, OK, Rev Anna Stillwell of Tahlequah, OK, Marianne Bundy of Wichita, Pat Tos of Wichita, and Leroy (Eva) Brightup of Wichita; three nieces and a nephew; and great grandparents, aunt, uncles, and cousins, along with extended family and friends that will miss his Beautiful smile, and engaging Attitude. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Michael's name to the Kansas Humane Society or The Mental Health Association for Children's Mental Health Awareness event.
