age 82, retired Federal Aviation Administration Flight Standards supervisor and former Director of Aviation Programs at Wichita Area Technical College, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021. He was also a certified A&P mechanic and recipient of the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award. Noel also served in the USMC and retired with faithful and honorable service from the USAR as a Chief Warrant Officer Four. He still enjoyed riding his motorcycle and had traveled to 48 states. His hobbies included being an avid reader, ham radio operator, and history buff.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Dorothy (Hermes) Gary; three brothers: Harold Jr., Dean, and Gene Gary; son-in-law, Lloyd Mills; and great granddaughter, Zoey Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Ann Gary and four children: Bethany Mills of Wichita, KS; Lori Gary (Steven Bryant) of Buckeye, AZ; Kathleen Gary of Orlando, FL; and Shaun (Deborah) Gary of Goddard, KS. Eight grandchildren: Christopher (Amanda) Williams of Wichita, KS; Tamera (Matthew) Lawrence of Lawrence, KS; David (Erica Keffeler) Lassley of Lawrence, KS; Megan (Emmanuel) Barrera of Wichita, KS; Cody (Rebecca) Mills of Liberty, MO; Sharon Gary of Kansas City, KS; Shannon Gary of Wichita, KS; and Sebastian Gary of the home. Four great grandchildren: Daisy and Luca Barrera; Jaysa and Declan Lawrence and one sister, Joan Newkirk.
Rosary with visitation: Wednesday, 9/1, 7:00 p.m. at Church of the Holy Spirit in Goddard, KS. Funeral mass: Thursday, 9/2, 10:30 a.m. Interment at Resthaven Cemetery will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials established with Church of the Holy Spirit, Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice at Via Christi-St. Francis, and the American Heart Association.
