was born November 3, 1945 in Paris, Texas to Eunice & Ottis Bridges; Ottis or Charlie as he is known; was the baby of the family, with 2 brothers & a sister.
Charlie grew up in Guymon, OK, Dodge City, Tribune & Garden City, KS. He attended 3 years at Garden City High School but graduated from Coldwater High School. He also attended Garden City Community College. For over 30 years, Charlie worked at Coleman/Evcon/York driving a forklift, loading HVAC units for shipment.
July 30, 1977 Charlie & Cheryl married in Valley Center, KS; they resided in Valley Center & later moved to Wichita.
Charlie joined the Masonic Lodge at Bestor G Brown, earned his 32 degree; he also joined the Midian Shrine, belonging to the Clown & Bowling Units. Charlie was enthusiastic about guns & playing pool; he belonged to several pool leagues & attended tournaments. In the pool community, many players held him in high regard.
Ottis Charles departed this life on Wednesday, December 23 at 3:20 pm at Diversicare of Haysville, where he had resided for 2 1/2 years.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Cheryl; parents & siblings Billy Wayne, William Milton & Mary Ruth Upchurch.
He leaves to mourn his passing step-daughter Dawn Peters-Harper of Lincoln NE, step-son Christopher Bradshaw of Bowling Green, KY; 5 grandchildren, Jordan Harper, Lincoln NE; Tracy Bradshaw, Colorado Springs CO; Hanna, Wyatt & Chloe Bradshaw, Bowling Green KY. Also, many nephews, nieces & friends.
