Rachel Nix

Rachel was born March 9, 1982 to Philip and Susan Nix. She grew up in Duncan, Oklahoma with her sister Erin “Becky” Hall (Nix), graduating with the class of 2001 with her best friend Crissy Childers (Mefford) by her side.

Rachel met the love of her life, Charlie Kimel, in 2009, and they spent 17 wonderful years together before her passing. They had one daughter together, Maicie Kimel, and she was blessed with two step-sons, Brenden Kimel and Hayden Lene-Kimel. Rachel was a homemaker who was very artistic and she enjoyed drawing and painting as well as camping.

Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Susan Nix; her grandparents, Lawrence and Donna Nix, and Dick and Joan Flanagan; and her mother-in-law, Robin Young.

Rachel is survived by the love of her life, Charlie Kimel; daughter, Maicie Kimel; step-sons, Brenden Kimel and Hayden Lene-Kimel; sister, Erin “Becky” Hall (Nix) and her husband Adam; sisters-in-law, Kim Van Ness and husband Matt, and Buffy McCarty; in laws, Chuck and Joni Kimel; niece, Allie Hall, many nephews and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209, on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11:00 am.
