Ray T. Woods

Woods, Ray, 81, passed away December 31, 2013 after a brief hospital stay related to his C.O.P.D. Ray was born May 3, 19 32 in Burneyville, OK. He was a Sergeant in the Army National Guard of Oklahoma – Company G, 179th Infantry, 1947 thru 1951 and served in Hokkaido, Japan during the Korean War. He married Eva Neal in 1950. They had four children: Mike, Mindy, Debbie and Juli. He worked for Walt Keeler Concrete Company for 32 years, the last 10 years as Vice President. While at Keeler, Ray was directly involved in batch plant operations of providing concrete for construction of the missile bases. He married Lynda (Strong) Stevens on July 13, 1973 . In 1989 formed Woodford Concrete Specialties, specializing in concrete construction. Ray and Lynda had WSU basketball tickets for 38 years. He was preceded in death by first wife of 22 years, Eva Glynn Woods; daughter, Mindy Treadwell; son-in-law, Gary Bushyhead; mother, Elsie Phillips. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lynda Woods of Valley Center; children, Debbie Bushyhead of Wichita, Juli (Robbie) Anderson of Wichita, Mike Woods of Tofino, BC, Canada; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and four-legged friend, Maggie. Family to receive friends 6 to 8 pm Friday at Resthaven Mortuary. Funeral service is 1:00 pm Saturday, January 4 at Riverlawn Christian Church. Memorials may be sent to American Lung Association or Riverlawn Christian Church.
