

He was born on June 16, 1924 in Florence, KS. After graduating HS, Richard “Rich” joined the United States Air Force and served as a bombardier on the B52 over Germany during WWII. He went on to serve six years as 1st lieutenant pilot flying the p52 mustang. He attended Emporia State University and earned his Bachelor’s as well as Master’s degree of Education. He retired at the age of 52 as a High School economic teacher for Arlington Heights High School in Chicago, IL. He spent the rest of his life traveling the world and aiding numerous charity organizations. He was a devout Catholic and thought the world of his grandchildren, Ian and Isabella.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles “Charlie” B. and Lucille (Waner) Seibel; sisters, Bernice “Arlene” Walcher and Frances Madeline Johnston; nephew, Dan. He is survived by his son, Kris (Beverly) Seibel; grandchildren, Ian J. and Isabella M. Seibel; nephews, Alan and Kenneth Walcher, Michael, Gary, Ronnie, Donnie and Paul Johnston; nieces, Wendy Scott and Mary McElroy.
Visistation with his family present from 4-6pm, Sunday, January 8, 2012 at DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt. Rosary 7pm, Monday, January 9, 2012 at DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt. Funeral Mass 10am, Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at All Saints Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Florence, KS.

Very strict yet compassionate, Dad, you raised me well and impressed upon me the core values of life that really matter: family, honesty, and charity. Always grateful, we will deeply miss you. We are so blessed to have had such a loving, caring and wonderful person in our lives. We love you.
